Our
President from May 2010 is Neil Airey. Neil served as a helicopter
pilot and instructor in the Royal Air force for 20 years from which he
retired as a Squadron Leader. During his service he spent 3 and a half
years on a loan service detachment to Brunei as OC Flying Standards
flying, instructing and examining on a range of helicopters.
He is the Chief Pilot of www.huey.co.uk flying the only privately
owned, civilian UH-1H in the UK. Neil can also be seen flying the North
West Air Ambulance.
He currently has over 7,800 flying hours and 16 types on his licence.
The following picture shows Neil and his partner, Heather, together with
our first President the late Jimmy Dell with, in the background, their
all time favourite aircraft. Indeed, Neil has the airframe of one of
these, XM172, in his back garden.
